Self-Worth
What is self-worth? Self-worth according to Cambridge dictionary means, “The value you give to your life and achievements.” Ask yourself, do you have self-worth or are you worthless in your eyes? I mean, for some people worthlessness seems to be the new norm.
People are often defined by their accomplishments, sponsorships, victories, and results. People are seriously playing a sport or starting a business with great excitement and then fade away when something doesn’t go their way. Why do you believe you're successful because the world defines you? Whether you win or lose a match doesn’t mean you’re less than the other individual with the better results on that given day. Everyone has his or her time. There will be a time to win consistently; there will be a time to learn. The lesson in this is when you don’t walk away with the w, what can you do to get the w next time?
We all know how great we feel when we win, but how do we feel when we don’t get the w? Do you feel deflated? Do you feel you’re not good enough or maybe you weren’t supposed to win today? Results are a plus, yes, but they are NOT who you are. You are a woman or man blessed to have an opportunity to compete with a God-given talent. Don’t get consumed by results. Win or learn put everything you have into your craft. Don’t stop just because you didn’t get the big promotion. Promotion is still on the way. What good are results if you don’t even know who you are and what you are fighting for? Who will you impact when it’s all finished?
There is something on the inside of you that only you can give. You were put here to impact lives. When the time comes for you to move unto another chapter, what else can you say besides I played this sport or I ran this business? Can you have another conversation? There is life after. Find who you are and do your craft. Win or learn you will be unstoppable once you realize you are not your results in life.
