Hot Topic- Tennis Relief Fund

My goodness. This week has been very eventful and full of opinions. Have you heard what Dominic Thiem said? His first statement was as follows.

Thiem’s First Statement

So, you know the public was furious, well some of them. Many people agreed because you should fight your way to the top. He feels that some of the lower-ranking players don't work hard enough. While that might be true, let us talk about my side, I mean the flip side.

Lower-ranking players work hard. I have seen myself and some of the rest whose work ethic is beyond one's understanding. There aren't many opportunities for you to make it to the top honestly when you don't have the resources. Many players who are top 10 didn't have to play ITF tournaments. If there were opportunities given to some of these lower-ranking players, you'd be surprised how they would fly to the top. Let's be honest tennis wasn't meant for the poor.

But you guys don’t need my opinion, look who stepped in to comment.

Look who stepped in

Put yourself in the shoes of the people who do work hard and spend their last. OR what about the people who can’t afford it and are finding little ways to make it.

Put yourself in the shoes of the people who do work hard and spend their last. What about the people who can’t afford it and are finding little ways to make it. Maybe things would be different if there were more opportunities for people to make it, not just the wealthy.

Clean up Statement Vs Sincere

Support of not, don’t mix work ethic with opportunity. There are tons of players in the lower levels that work hard and are gutsier. Let's give credit and help to hard-working people.

What are your thoughts?
