AKILAH JAMES

Akilah James was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Akilah started playing tennis at a very young age. She was taught by her father, Augustine James from St.Georges, Grenada. She then received a full scholarship to IMG Academy to work with Nick Bollettieri. After years of rigorous training, James received a full scholarship to the University of Arizona where she played positions 3 and 4. After university, James was a missionary in the Marshall Islands. After completing missionary work, she managed to travel around the world playing tennis to get a WTA ranking. She is ready to continue this journey of success.
