I have never been on break for this long !
How long has it been since you’ve played tennis? How long has it been since you’ve done what you’ve wanted because of COVID-19? Has co-vid 19 stopped you from accomplishing something?
I think it’s the same across the world. Around the globe, many people aren’t able to earn money to live or get things done for the sake of their jobs. How have you been coping? Are you stressed out? Are you enjoying the break? What’s going on in your mind? Well, let me tell you what’s going on in my mind.
I haven’t played tennis in exactly 41 days as of today. I am on the beautiful island of Antigua & Barbuda. I was playing tennis the very next day I arrived on the island. A tragedy happened to me and caused me to prolong my stay. Praise God it gets better every day for me. The world went awry quickly. Many countries have closed down because of it. Not only were people infected, but people are fearful of what co-vid 19 has done.
A lot of people are quitting their dreams, getting divorces, and more. These times are revealing who people are? Have you had any break downs? There is no tennis at this time. At first, I embraced the time off to heal my body, recover on lost sleep, and more. It is going on almost 2 months of no tennis. I can’t even access a tennis court. The crazy part is that the beaches and gulf are open, but the tennis courts aren’t open. Please open up the tennis courts! The good thing is I can stay fit at this time. I have been keeping up with my physical activity, but tennis wise, well tennis is nonexisting.
What are you going to do when you can step foot on the court again? Better yet, what are you going to do when you’re able to travel to compete again? I know I’m going to be crazy excited and ready to kick butt. I’m going to be so laser focus and maximize the time I have on the court. I will from this point on appreciate every moment I have out there. I am going to grunt like no other, hit winners like no other, hit kick serves like no other, take risks, and more. I am in love with a sport that gives and takes a lot from me, but gives me life, meaning, and purpose.
